Sturdy Dirty Enduro Race Prep Series #2

Trail Cornering at Galbraith Mountain with Angi Weston and TBD $150/person
In the second installment of our "Sturdy Dirty Enduro Prep Series" we will progress students through the vast array of cornering and turning (yes they can be different!) drills. We've all heard the saying, "Air for show, corners for dough" and it's true! Cornering is one of the most prevalent, varied, and technical aspects to our sport- you can never get too good at this skill set so this class will have something for everyone. In our four hour session we will progress students through a multitude of skills and drills to deepen their understanding of cornering complexities then we will hit the trails for immediate practical application and practice. Take the guessing (and over-braking) out of your cornering and join us on this twisted mission.

Pumptrack and pumping on-trail/cornering with Jill Kintner and Angi Weston at Bike Ranch and Galbraith $150/person
Master pumping skills (through corners, over rollers, and sometimes on just the back wheel alone, aka: manuals) and you will ride faster, smoother, and have more fun on trails. We recommend a dirt jumper or bmx style bike for this session but if you don't have that bike feel free to bring your mountain bike and the Bike Ranch has a few demos to share. We will then take the skills you've learned at the Bike Ranch and take them to the trails where you can put them into practice.

Hairball MTB Extravaganza!

to Mar 31

Hairball MTB Extravaganza!

For the third year in a row the legendary Team Laser Kittens host one of the state’s best mountain bike skills clinics for women. Professional coaches, Angi Weston with Radical Roots MTB Instruction and Lisa Mason with Women’s Freeride Movement, lead the mega-progression-sessions on the stunning trails of P.A.

This is a small group clinic with loads of opportunity to learn, meet new friends, and ride world class trails - some of which were even built by Team Laser Kittens themselves. The weekend will kick-off with a casual meet-and-greet on Friday night so students and coaches can get a chance to mingle, then on Saturday and Sunday we will split into groups for a student to coach ration of 6:1 and we’ll spend 6-7 hours on the bike each day. The coaches’ progressive approach to teaching starts students in a low-consequence setting giving them time to focus on proper body position, timing, and execution of a wide variety of foundational skills. Then they methodically add the next level of complexity for each skill so that their students are powered by the confidence of these successful successions. Regardless if your goals for the weekend are to learn the basics of mountain biking or learn how to catch more air and ride faster - our coaches tailor the lessons to your goals. Each student will also receive a list of “homework” and a skills re-cap and study guide sheet to help them continue to progress well beyond the weekend. Open to women and anyone who identifies as female.

Sturdy Dirty Enduro Race Prep Series #1

Spring Kick-off session with Angi Weston & Kat Sweet at Duthie Hill $150/person

In this first installment of our "Sturdy Dirty Enduro Prep Series" we will progress students through the fundamental skills of mountain biking. Fundamental skills include; progressions in braking (which actually makes you faster!), wheel lifts & lunges, slow speed skills, tight turning, track stands/balancing, and bailing. If you are new to mountain biking and/or mountain bike instruction this is a great place to start. If you are an intermediate - advanced rider/racer you will benefit from this course too because it serves as a refresher and confidence builder which is a great way to start the season. The more practice you have at nailing your fundamental skills the more muscle memory you build around proper technique and the lower your risks of making errors when you are pinned in your race runs. With so much material to cover and so many interactive activities to help you practice, this four hour session will go by quickly and you definitely won't get bored.
